Jacopo Robusti Tintoretto (1518–1594) was an Italian painter of the late Renaissance period. He was renowned for his dramatic and expressive use of colour and light, and his innovative compositions. His works are characterised by their vivid brushwork and dynamic compositions, often featuring dramatic religious and mythological scenes. His paintings are found in the world's most prestigious galleries, and his prints are highly sought after by collectors.
