Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) was a German Renaissance artist and engraver who produced some of the most iconic works of the period. He was a master draughtsman, printmaker and theorist, renowned for his woodcuts, engravings and paintings. His works were influential in establishing the Northern Renaissance in Germany and were widely copied and adapted by later generations of artists. His work continues to be admired for its technical skill and its beauty.
