Lucas Cranach the Younger (1515-1586) was a German Renaissance painter and printmaker. He was the son of Lucas Cranach the Elder and continued his father's workshop after his death. He was a successful painter, working mainly in portraits, and was appointed court painter to the Elector of Saxony. He is best known for his religious paintings, woodcuts, and engravings. His works have been highly sought after for centuries and are now widely available as fine art prints.
