Mary Cassatt (1844-1926) was an American Impressionist painter and printmaker who was born in Pennsylvania. She was one of the few female artists of her time to gain recognition in the male-dominated art world. Her works are known for their intimate depictions of the everyday lives of women and children. Her prints, which often feature pastel colours, have become popular among collectors of fine art prints.
