Albert Chevallier Tayler (1862-1925) was a British painter and etcher renowned for his evocative landscape paintings. He was born in London and studied at the Lambeth School of Art and the Royal Academy of Arts, where he won a gold medal in 1887. He was influenced by the Barbizon School of Painting and the Impressionists, and his work is characterised by a strong sense of atmosphere and light. He was a master of etching and produced a number of prints of his work.
