Paul Sandby (1731-1809) was an English artist and map-maker. He is best known for his landscape paintings and aquatints, which often featured scenes from the British countryside. His style was influenced by the Dutch and Flemish masters, and he was a key figure in the development of the English landscape school. He was also a founding member of the Royal Academy of Arts, and his work continues to be highly sought after today.
