Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882) was an English poet, painter, and illustrator. He was a key figure in the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of painters who sought to revive the art of the Italian Renaissance. His paintings and illustrations were marked by vivid colours and romantic themes. He was also a prolific poet, writing many sonnets and narrative poems. His works remain popular today, and his influence can be seen in many modern artists.
