Vladimir Makovsky
1846 - 1920
Vladimir Makovsky was a Russian painter and art critic of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a member of the influential Peredvizhniki movement, which sought to bring art to the people in a realistic style. Makovsky's works often featured everyday life in Russia, with a focus on the struggles of the common people. He was a master of genre painting and his works are celebrated for their vivid colours and attention to detail. His art continues to be popular today, and many of his works can be found in fine art prints.
We have 38 artworks in our catalogue by Makovsky available for order. Browse our full collection of Makovsky prints, or browse other Russian or Realism artists.
Of our Prints and Others...

The quality of a Giclée fine art print may be generally reckoned from the weight, and therefore, thickness, of the printing paper that is used. That is, the heavier, weightier the printing paper that is used, the better the likely quality. Weight of paper is measured in 'Grams per Square Metre' or 'gsm' for short. So, without further ado...
