Lorenzo Lotto (1480-1556) was an Italian painter and draftsman of the High Renaissance. He is best known for his religious works, which combine a Renaissance attention to naturalism with a deeply personal and emotional approach. His portraits are also highly regarded, and his works are found in many of the world's finest art galleries. His influence can still be seen in the works of many contemporary artists.
