Filippino Lippi (1457–1504) was an Italian painter of the Early Renaissance. He was born in Florence and was the son of Fra Filippo Lippi, a renowned painter of the time. Filippino was trained by his father and developed a style that was a combination of the two great Florentine masters of the time, Masaccio and Fra Angelico. His works are characterised by a delicate use of colour and a graceful line. He is best known for his frescoes and altarpieces, which are characterised by their beautiful and lyrical compositions.
