Jacob Jordaens (1593-1678) was a Flemish Baroque painter, draughtsman and tapestry designer. He was one of the leading artists of his time, and his work was highly sought after throughout Europe. He is best known for his large-scale history paintings, portraits, and genre scenes, which often featured vivid colours and lively compositions. He also created a number of religious works, and his prints are highly prized by collectors today.
