Paul Cesar Helleu (1859-1927) was a French artist best known for his portraits of society women in the late 19th century. His works were characterised by a delicate use of pastel colours and a highly refined technique. He was a master of capturing the grace and beauty of his sitters, and his works remain highly sought after to this day.
