François Marius Granet was a French neoclassical painter and draftsman born in Aix-en-Provence in 1775. He is best known for his detailed and dramatic depictions of religious and historical scenes, as well as his vivid and expressive use of colour. Granet's works are held in the Louvre, the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence, and numerous other institutions around the world. His work continues to inspire and delight viewers of fine art prints to this day.
