Myles Birket Foster (1825-1899) was an English landscape painter and printmaker. He is best known for his idyllic rural scenes of the English countryside, which were popular with Victorian audiences. His style combined a realistic attention to detail with a romanticised vision of nature. His works were widely disseminated through prints, and his influence can be seen in the work of many later British painters.
