John Ferneley (1782-1860) was an English painter known for his paintings of horses and hunting scenes. He was a popular artist in his time and has been described as the "Father of English Sporting Art". His works were admired for their accurate depiction of horses, and his paintings often featured the horses of prominent figures of the day.
