William Dyce (1806-1864) was a Scottish painter and designer of the Pre-Raphaelite school. He was well known for his religious paintings, as well as his designs for stained glass windows, tapestries, and book illustrations. He was also one of the first artists to use photography to aid in his work. Dyce was a major influence on the British art scene of the 19th century, and his work continues to be celebrated today.
