Theodore Chasseriau
1819 - 1856
Theodore Chasseriau (1819-1856) was a French painter and sculptor of the Romantic period. He is best known for his large-scale history paintings, which combined a neoclassical style with vivid colours and dynamic compositions. Chasseriau was also a highly skilled portraitist, and his works ranged from religious scenes to landscapes and genre scenes. His works have been widely appreciated for their technical skill and emotional intensity.
We have 40 artworks in our catalogue by Chasseriau available for order. Browse our full collection of Chasseriau prints, or browse other French or Romantic artists.
