Fra Angelico (c. 1395-1455) was an Italian Early Renaissance painter and Dominican friar. His work was known for its serenity and use of bright, vivid colors. He is especially renowned for his frescoes, which he painted in several Florentine churches. His work is often seen as a bridge between the Gothic and Renaissance styles, combining elements of both. He is also remembered for his influential altarpieces and panel paintings, which often depicted religious figures and scenes.
