Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys (1829-1904) was a British artist and illustrator best known for his Pre-Raphaelite-style paintings of religious, literary, and historical subjects. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts and a founding member of the Hogarth Club. His works are characterised by their attention to detail, vibrant colors, and symbolic meaning. He is remembered as one of the most important figures of Victorian art and his works are highly sought after today.
