Martinus Rorbye (1803 - 1848) was a Danish painter known for his landscape and marine paintings. He was a founding member of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1829 and was appointed professor in 1841. He is best known for his romantic depictions of the Danish countryside and coastlines, which capture the beauty of the land in a unique and captivating way.
