Pierre Joseph Redoute was an artist and botanist who is widely renowned for his beautiful botanical illustrations. He was born in 1759 and is remembered for his detailed illustrations of flowers and plants, which were used in the book Les Liliacees, published in 1802-1816. He was also a court artist for Marie Antoinette and Napoleon Bonaparte, and his works continue to be admired and sought after by art collectors and enthusiasts.
