Bartolome Esteban Murillo (1617–1682) was a Spanish Baroque painter known for his religious and genre paintings. He was born in Seville, Spain, and was the most important painter of the Spanish Golden Age. His works are characterised by their luminous colours and delicate figures, which often depict religious and genre scenes. His works are highly sought after and are featured in many museums around the world.
