Franz Marc was a German Expressionist painter and printmaker, known for his use of bright colours and bold shapes. His works often depicted animals and nature in imaginative and abstract ways. He was a founding member of the Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider) group of artists. Marc's work was influential in the development of abstract art and Expressionism in the early 20th century.
