Sawrey Gilpin (1733-1807) was a British painter and engraver, known for his landscapes and animal portraiture. He was particularly famous for his paintings of horses and dogs, which were highly sought after by wealthy patrons. He was also known for his skillful engravings, which were widely reproduced in books and prints. His work is admired for its attention to detail and its vividness of colour.
