Francesco Bassano was a 16th-century Venetian painter and engraver known for his religious works. He was a member of the Bassano family of painters, which included his father, Jacopo, and his brothers, Girolamo and Leandro. His art has been described as being characterised by a strong sense of colour and light, with a focus on religious themes and classical mythology. He was an important figure in the Venetian school of painting and his works can be found in museums and galleries around the world.
