Jacques Laurent Agasse (1767–1849) was a Swiss painter and printmaker known for his scenes of animals, landscapes, and hunting. His works were popular during his lifetime and remain highly sought after today. He was a master of composition, light, and colour and was particularly noted for his depictions of horses, which he painted with a remarkable sense of energy and movement.
