Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker. His innovative use of light, colour, and composition earned him the title 'the painter of light'. His works often depicted natural scenes, such as sunsets, storms, and rivers, and he was one of the first artists to capture the beauty of the industrial revolution.
