Arthur Devis (1712-1787) was an English landscape and portrait painter who was active during the 18th century. He is best known for his landscapes featuring the English countryside, but he also painted many portraits of important figures of the time. His works were highly sought after and his style was much admired. He was a major influence on the development of British landscape painting and his works remain popular to this day.
