Vasily Vereshchagin (1842-1904) was a Russian painter and graphic artist. He is best known for his realist depictions of military scenes, often of battles, as well as his portraits of Russian peasants. He is considered one of the most important Russian painters and his works are highly sought after as fine art prints.
