Katsukawa Shunchō (1748-1820) was a Japanese artist of the Edo period. He was one of the most important ukiyo-e artists of the time, specializing in woodblock prints of kabuki actors and sumo wrestlers. His works feature a strong sense of realism and a unique style of composition, with bold lines and a focus on facial expressions. His work was highly influential and helped to shape the ukiyo-e movement of the Edo period.
