Ary Scheffer (1795-1858) was a Dutch-French Romantic painter, best known for his religious and classical-inspired works. He was a prolific artist who created many paintings, drawings, and lithographs throughout his lifetime. Scheffer's works are characterised by their graceful and gentle nature, depicting scenes of classical and religious themes. His works are highly sought after and are featured in many major collections around the world.
