Hubert Robert (1733-1808) was a French painter and printmaker who was known for his landscapes and architectural scenes. He was a highly influential artist in the late 18th century, and his works were popular with many collectors of the time. Robert's work often featured dramatic lighting and vivid colours, as well as his signature use of shadows and perspective. He was a master of the Baroque style, and his works remain popular to this day.
