Alexej von Jawlensky was a Russian expressionist painter and printmaker, and a member of the Blue Rider group. His works are characterised by vibrant colours, emotive brushstrokes, and the use of religious and mystical symbolism. His work is highly sought after, and his prints are considered to be some of the finest examples of modern art.
