Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) was a Japanese artist, renowned for his prints and paintings of landscapes, flora, and fauna. He is best known for his series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, which includes the iconic Great Wave off Kanagawa. Hokusai was a master of the ukiyo-e, or "floating world", style of art, and his works are highly sought after by collectors of fine art prints.
