Portrait of Marie-Jean-Antoine-Nicolas de Caritat, Marquis of Condorcet
Jean-Baptiste Greuze
1725 - 1805
Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805) was a French Rococo painter and draughtsman whose works were highly sought after in his own time. His paintings often depicted scenes of everyday life, with an emphasis on moral and sentimental values. Greuze's works were widely admired for their vivid colours, delicate brushwork, and emotional expressiveness. Greuze's paintings are now considered to be masterpieces of 18th century French art, and are featured in many of the world's major art galleries.
We have 29 artworks in our catalogue by Greuze available for order. Browse our full collection of Greuze prints, or browse other French or Neoclassical artists.
Of our Prints and Others...

The quality of a Giclée fine art print may be generally reckoned from the weight, and therefore, thickness, of the printing paper that is used. That is, the heavier, weightier the printing paper that is used, the better the likely quality. Weight of paper is measured in 'Grams per Square Metre' or 'gsm' for short. So, without further ado...
