William Etty (1787-1849) was an English artist renowned for his paintings of classical and historical subjects, often featuring nude figures. He was one of the first British artists to specialise in nude figures, and his work was highly praised by his contemporaries. Etty was a master of colour and light, and his works are considered some of the best examples of Romantic art in England. His paintings have been widely reproduced in the form of fine art prints, and they continue to inspire viewers to this day.
