Charles-Amedee Philippe Van Loo

Charles-Amedee Philippe Van Loo was a French painter of the 18th century, best known for his portraits of the aristocracy. His work was highly sought after and he was a favourite of the court of Louis XV. He was also renowned for his religious paintings and mythological scenes, which were popular during the Rococo period. His style was characterised by a light touch and delicate use of colour, and he was an important influence on the development of French Rococo painting.
