Antoine Carle Vernet (1758-1836) was a French painter and printmaker of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He was the son of the popular painter, Joseph Vernet, and was a student of his father's works. He was known for his landscapes and genre scenes, as well as his prints and drawings of horses, battles, and military scenes. His works are still admired today for their attention to detail and vivid colours.
