Anthony Van Dyck was a Flemish Baroque artist who was renowned for his exceptional portraiture. He was a master in his field and was court painter to the English King Charles I. His paintings are characterised by his use of light and colour, creating a sense of grandeur and drama. His work has been an inspiration for many artists and is still admired today.
