Pietro Longhi was an Italian painter from the Rococo era. He was born in Venice in 1702 and is best known for his genre scenes depicting the everyday life of the Venetian middle classes. His works are characterised by their vibrant colours and attention to detail, and he is considered one of the most important Venetian painters of the 18th century. His work is still widely appreciated today, and his art has been reproduced in many fine art prints.
