John Frederick Herring, Jr. (1820-1907) was a British painter renowned for his equestrian and rural scenes. He was the son of the renowned animal painter, John Frederick Herring, Sr., and was born in London. Herring Jr. was a gifted painter, exhibiting his works at the Royal Academy from 1845 to 1885. He was known for his sensitive and accurate depictions of horses and rural life. His works are highly sought after and can be found in many major galleries and museums.
