Anne-Louis Girodet de Roussy-Trioson (1767-1824) was a French Neoclassical painter and draftsman renowned for his vivid, expressive portraits and history paintings. His work was influenced by Jacques-Louis David, and he was a member of the French Academy of Painting and Sculpture. Girodet de Roussy-Trioson was highly regarded for his technical skill and use of bright, vibrant colours. He is remembered for works such as "The Sleep of Endymion" and "Portrait of Mademoiselle Lange".
